Will was born at Allegheny General Hospital and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh, Pa by his two parents. Early on, Will played a number of sports but his two favorite were baseball & football. Will quickly realized that Pittsburgh was a sports town and he was totally here for every bit of it, whether as a player or a fan! Ask anybody who knows Will and they'll tell you that he has been outgoing and adventurous all his life. After Will graduated from the Pittsburgh Public School District which he attended from elementary through high school, he went on to start his own company. Will has received awards and acknowledgments as an advocate for Entrepreneurship and Technology. Will has a large extended family that is intertwined with the fabric of some of Pittsburgh's most influential people, giving him the name "Pittsburgh's Son." Will is everything from a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, stepfather, friend and one of the greatest God Dad's a child could have. And we can't forget to mention how much he cares about animals, as a pet owner himself he has taken on the responsibility of having one since a little boy. Will has always been a creative listener, he loves hearing about new ideas while talking with everyday people when he's out and about or over the phone. Will has a natural skill to connect with others which has developed into what he describes as part of his calling to serve the public. As a life-long believer in Jesus Christ, Will walks with faith in God everywhere he goes and he's not afraid to let people know he's a religious man.
Will was waking up early in the morning getting ready for work like most Pennsylvanians. As pictured, arriving just before dawn at his desk with the next list of - to do's for the day. Will, is the CEO of VendSpin which is a mobile delivery app that he founded. Headquartered in the heart of the Steel City at the time, Will ran his business from an office at the top of the UPMC building. As Will sat and overlooked the city for years he grew increasingly concerned about why we as Pennsylvanians weren't growing together? Will's answer, Governmental Disinvestment. Will then chose to commit himself to providing the public with a transparent look at how our tax dollars are spent and who is and who isn't benefiting from them through broken policies.
The political landscape in Western Pennsylvania has completely changed over the years since Will announced his first campaign. Will has ran for 3 political offices so far, which include Mayor of Pittsburgh 2000-2021, U.S. Congress 12th District 2021-2022, Allegheny County Executive 2022-2023. Even though Will was not elected the winner in either race he was proud to have ran in races that lead to historic victories for others. A lot of candidates disappear when they don't win, Will keeps going. Will believes it's that consistent grit, grind, determination and never give up spirit that will truly prove him to be a Man for the People.
Will has a huge heart, he has helped a countless amount of people along his journey. If you can name it Will has probably done it, from helping others start their own businesses to shoveling snow for seniors and everything in between. One of Will's proudest acts of humanity is when he drove all the way to Houston, TX from Pittsburgh, PA by himself to help those in need after Hurricane Harvey hit their city hard.
"Want more for others, even if you don't want much for yourself." - Will Parker
